Safety at Kolb Grading is not a checklist we complete or a number we report. It is a program of continuous improvement that exceeds industry standards, shaped by our internal safety specialists and validated by outside auditors. Because we are a family business, every policy comes back to one measure: whether it helps our people get home safely at the end of the day. Four commitments back that up on every site, every shift.
The Right Training
Ongoing safety education keeps our teams current as industry requirements evolve, with internal safety specialists and external auditors regularly reviewing our practices.
The Right Equipment
A new, well-maintained fleet is a safety program in itself. Modern machines with real-time controls reduce downtime, surprises, and risk on every site.
The Right PPE
Eye protection for any work generating particles, hard hats everywhere outside designated areas, job-specific gloves, and fall protection for all work above six feet. No exceptions.
Stretch and Flex
Every shift starts with job-specific stretching, repeated after lunch. It improves flexibility, reduces the risk of injury, and helps crews recover faster from fatigue.
